From sea to shining: From sea to shining sea, the abandoned bunkers and ammunition stashes left behind during the Second World War remain. From the 1940s onwards, America has been capturing and cataloging these places, moving and protecting the historic structures away from the vandals who wanted to destroy them and even restore them to their former glory.
